Tell us about the beginning of your interest in darts. We always had a dartboard in the house. My Dad taught my sisters and I how to play on an American board. We played a lot of 6, 11, cork and baseball. When Lansdale Amusement introduced the Electronic Dart board to the area, I just had to play. I’m very competitive and I saw it as a challenge. It was all over for me after that; I love the game and the competitiveness of it.

What is the most annoying antic you see from other dart players? The disrespect that is shown to players who are shooting well. Instead of insulting them and moaning that you’re loosing, practice and get your game better.

On which team(s) do you play? I shoot with the Unfriendly Opossums on Monday Night Cricket  Go Team!! Darts to the Future on Wednesday Night “My Boys, Luv them”

What keeps you playing darts? My competitive spirit and the wonderful friends I have and have met along the way.

What goals in darts do you have? To beat my doubles partner in Singles just once. LOL

What has been your best moment in darts? There has been many, but when you are in that zone, and you know what I mean if you have ever been there, when every dart goes right where you throw it and no one can beat you. I played that way in a tournament in Hazelton. I was shooting with my then mixed doubles partner Darin Young and I took a 164 out. Bull, trip 20, trip 18. It was a beautiful ending to a very good weekend.

What’s your advice to a newbie dart player? PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

I just wanted to add that there are so many wonderful shooters in our dart league. It’s nice to see them going to tournament and playing well. I have been a tournament shooter for a very long time and there is no better way to get better than to get away from your local bar and play against some of the best shooters in the area and in the country. You will probably get beaten the first few times, but keep going and you’ll only get better. On a personal note, I just wanted to say that my sisters Maria Fricker and Michelle Parks are also very good dart shooters and have been going to tournaments as long as I have. Sometimes they get their accomplishments overlooked, so the next time you pick up a Bullshooter Magazine or a Bulls Eye News take a look at all the names and pictures and give kudos to everybody in there. Who knows next time it could be you!
